Comfort

Why is it that we think that because we have accepted Christ, He then owes us something? We are so spoiled as Christians in this country and even though I and my family are dependant on others to suppliment our income, honestly, I am ashamed at how comfortable my living situation is.

If God called me to be missionary in another country, would I still feel this grateful? I would like to say so...I just don't know.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, we are told that persecustion will come! Why is it that we then shake our fist at God? We should be thankful that we are the robbed and not the robber! (I know this from first hand experience, and many of my dear friends do too!)

We aren't called to be like others who have all the latest toys, we are call to live meekly and humbly and look forward to the blessings that are to come in eternity.

What is truth?

Why do we allow truth to be objective? Why do we claim to have the Bible as an authority in our lives and yet conform to what the world says is true or isn't? Why do we value the opinion of our friends and family over the value of scripture?

If scripture is true in part, it is true in all that it says. And might I add not only in spiritual things, but also in its claims in the realm of history and science too!

When are we as a society going to stop giving lip service and our second best to God and His word? We say we are angry about the morals in our society and yet we are still willing to not live up to some of the most basic teachings of the Bible.

I could spend a great deal of time talking about where I think we are lacking in our theology, but if we commit ourselves to knowing and reckoning that the Bible is in true in all it says, the rest will work itself out.

My hope and prayer is that in 2009 the people of God will be intentional in their commitment to the truth in the Word of God!
